Even though Labor & Industries (WISHA Services) exist to administer the safety codes of Washington state, the challenge is far greater than any one entity can be very effective with.

As a private company, Industrial Safety Consultants of Washington, LLC. comes with twenty six plus years of experience and is a valuable tool to those companies that wish to participate in a program of safety mechanics. The State of Washington (WISHA Services) has neither the time nor the resources to stay with a company to assure that items remain in good repair once fixed and only require the employer to submit evidence of correction for each item cited.

The knowledge base of Industrial Safety Consultants of Washington, LLC. is very broad, including twenty six years of inspection and supervisory duties in all industries. In areas where questions do arise there is an established relationship with the personnel within Labor & Industries to assist in obtaining any answers needed. Specialized knowledge is in the fields of Logging, Woodworking, Construction and the Longshore/Stevedoring industries, as well as WISHA itself.

History

Industrial Safety Consultants of Washington, LLC began it's quest for industrial safety in 1977 due to the extreme rate of death in the logging industry. In 1978 there were over 30 fatal accident in logging in the state of Washington alone. Labor and Industries hired inspectors with expertise in logging and by the early 1980's the fatality rate had been reduced to just below 20 and by 1990 it had fallen to 6 deaths. Now, with little attention to that industry the death rate is again climbing with 14 deaths in 2002. This proves that the safety emphasis needs to be kept alive - in all industries for the prevention of pain and suffering. It is also a proven fact that safety does not cost money in the long run, but the lack of attention thereto does!
